We just randomly searched for a south Indian restaurant during our weekend trip to Copenhagen … nice food and just went with recommendations from them .. we all enjoyed our dosais , starters and our drinks Lassi’sMad: 5/5
Absolutely delicious South Indian food. We had the masala dosa, vidai and the traditional family lamb dish. The vidai were so incredibly crispy from the outside! Our South Indian friends recommended it and we did not get disappointed. It was really good food! Service was very friendly as well. Happy to go back any time and try some other dishes from the menu.
overall good food and service There are few nepali waitress who done great service and Served well highly recommended remembere this is typical south indian restaurant not like North indian or pakistani. Try dosa idli coffee here. Ample sitting place and good clean toilets Vegetarretter: ask them for it
As we are frequent traveller's and we have been to 16 countries in Europe. We have tried most of the indian restaurants in the countries we been. We would definitely say this is the best in the list. Real chettinad taste, with real spices. And you don't feel heavy after having food. We ordered 2 plates of chicken 65, and chettinad briyani was outstanding. Dosa was crispy and delightful. Parota was average. But totally it was good service. I would recommend if you are like South food and this is first to pick in Copenhagen. Børnevenligt: Taken care about kids taste.
Don’t even think about spending your money here! Sorry but i think this was the worst Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to. Not authentic at all. I’m really sorry to say this but the food doesn’t look like the pictures they are promoting here or any other places for their customers. This is how it came on our table and the taste was not as good as other restaurants with same food. I’ve been eating South Indian cuisine many different places. Also the restaurant was not clean and we had dirty drinking glasses on the table. Sadly my son and husband also got very sick after our visit and my son threw up in the bathroom. That lasted for two days and our holiday in Denmark got ruined. We sent a polite email to the restaurant and it took many days before they even answered. Many emails after they just apologized and told us that no other guests had been complaining. This is not how a restaurant should handle such a important situation. I’m coming from the business myself and everywhere i been working we would take this very seriously. And give compensation!
Every once in a blue moon, I get the craving for a South Indian breakfast - and this seemingly is the only spot in Copenhagen. The ambience is pretty nice, and it's a great place for a Sunday brunch. I had a vadai and a podi dosa. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the vadai at all, it was very spongy and had a very off-putting texture. The dosa on the other hand was decent.
I used to be regular visitor. The quality has fallen a lot ..dosa was ok … masala was blend … chutney were from fridge not fresh.. menu wada was not good .. only stuffed with peppers .. not visiting next time … Mango lassi was only savior Mad: 2/5
Maintenance can be improved. One Good thing is they give rice with all main dishes. So before ordering, make sure it’s not too much. Quantity is sharable between 2 people. They don’t accept Euro here.Mad: 4/5
The menu is very cunning. In the menu the photo of Masala Dosa is shown with 2 vadai. People make order of this and they will just give normal Dosa with very little smashed potato stuffing and NO vadai. Picture is to cheat people and increase order. Clever and over smart staff. Won't recommend this place at all.!! Also the quantity of dips Sambar and Coconut Paste/Chutney is very less. It's not at all enough for the Dosa or Vadai. Stay away guys.. don't be a victim of their unethical revenue.. Attached photo as proof
The South Indian Vesterbro was a genuinely great way of getting authentic Indian cuisine while our time at Denmark. To start off, the staff was very friendly and kind to us, we had not made a reservation since we didn't know you could do that, but it didn't take more than 10 minutes for them to accommodate us. Service was absolutely amazing, the only downside being that it seemed like they were very understaffed as the place was packed yet they only had two waitress, you could tell they were struggling for a bit. Getting there was also a bit confusing, we could see the sign outside the building but there was no signs of a restaurant. Turns out that the pace is on the second floor of the building and you have to get to that second floor from the inside of the building. The food was also incredibly tasty and fresh, butter chicken being my favorite dish that night. The place is a bit more on the pricier side, but I personally think it is worth the price. Great place!
